DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Unsigned Iowa 933 begins on the quarter section line of Section 10-T88N-R14W; thence north .21 miles to Section 3-T88N-Rl4W (Old Iowa 58).

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number 97-TJ-005 between the Iowa Department of Transportation and the City of Hudson transferred Unsigned Iowa 933 to local jurisdiction on March 1, 1999. The official description of Unsigned Iowa 933 should be removed from the Primary Road System to reflect this change of jurisdiction.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended to approve removing the description of Unsigned Iowa 933 from the Primary Road System.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to an agreement in 1994, a section of Unsigned Iowa 933 went back to a landowner and the official description in the Primary Road System should be revised to reflect this change of Unsigned Iowa 933.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the old description of Unsigned Iowa 933 in Black Hawk County be deleted from the Primary Road System and the new description, as described in the attachment, be included in the Primary Road System.

Description of Unsigned Iowa 933 in Hudson is as follows:

Beginning on the quarter section line of Section 10-T88N-R14W; thence north .21 miles to Section 3-T88N-Rl4W (Old Iowa 58).

Due to the relocation of Iowa 58 in 1988, the old section became Unsigned Iowa 933 and the Primary Road System should be revised to reflect this change.

It is recommended that Unsigned Iowa 933, as described in the attachment, be added to the Primary Road System.

Description of Unsigned Iowa 933 in Hudson is as follows:

Beginning on the quarter section line of section 10-T88N-Rl4W; thence north .21 miles to section 3-T88N-Rl4W; thence continuing .36 miles north in section 3-T88N-Rl4W (Old Iowa 58).

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to the relocation of Iowa 58 in the Waterloo urban area, that portion of highway that was formerly Iowa 58 has been re-designated as Unsigned Iowa 933.

Unsigned Iowa 933 begins at Ranchero Road and travels north to dead end and south to dead end, a total of 0.57 mile. No transfer of jurisdiction agreement was signed prior to the relocation of Iowa 58 so the old portion of this highway remains under state jurisdiction.

No staff action has been submitted for including Unsigned Iowa 933 in the official primary description pending contact with the District Planner.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended to approve adding the attached description of Unsigned Iowa 933 in Black Hawk County to the Primary Road System.
